An actor has revealed the grueling preparation he went through to play a drug addict in an upcoming film, which he committed to ‘with all his heart’.
The Australian actor is best known for playing the lead role of warrior Leif Eriksson in Vikings: Valhallaa spin-off of the popular one series Vikings.
That role required him to take on a Viking-type workout routine that he had to go through every day to achieve the desired physique of a warrior.
But for this upcoming role, it looks like he had to do the complete opposite.

Sam Corlett took over Instagram to share his breathtaking body transformation to play a medicine addict for his new one film, It’s not heavywith his 728,000 followers on social media.
The Netflix star posed both before and after the transformation, explaining how focused he was on fulfilling the role as he gained “mental clarity” while undergoing the drastic physical change.
Max is the subject of a film inspired by a true story, which follows a sister who kidnaps her brother in an attempt to save him from his addiction.
In a candid message to fans, he wrote: “When I read David’s script, HE AINT HEAVY, there was simply nothing I wasn’t willing to do to honor this story.
“Knowing where it came from in his life and how much it reflected the relationships in mine, I knew I had to commit with all my heart.”

Corlett continued: “Under guidance, I went from 92kg (for Vikings: Valhalla) to 66kg for this film.
“I found that the physical structure gave me so much mental clarity and emotional access, allowing me to serve the character of Max.”
He then added that the film would be released in Australian cinemas on October 17, saying he would “love to hear” how the film would make them feel when they watch it.
Opposite him in the film is Leila George, who plays Max’s 30-year-old sister, Jade, who will do anything to get her brother clean.

Corlett revealed to Confidential that he “ate just one meal a day for four months” and walked between 20,000 and 30,000 steps a day to lose the weight he needed.
But after filming, he said it was difficult to get back to normal eating habits.
The Australian admitted: “(I) definitely had dysmorphia after that, I struggled to get back to normal. My diet before this consisted of training for Vikings and so I had to find a completely new normal and my stomach was used to consuming so much food.”
