Trump unfit for presidency

Donald Trump believes many things.

He believes that all immigrants are drug-dealing murderers and rapists; that Hurricanes Helene and Milton were manipulated to attack Republican-voting counties; that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, eat cats and dogs; that COVID-19 was a hoax; that Aurora, Colorado, is overrun by Venezuelan gangs; that the January 6, 2021 insurrection was peaceful and that those convicted of assault, property damage, seditious conspiracy and countless other crimes are patriots and should all be pardoned; that the global climate is not changing; that inflation has gotten out of control and gasoline prices are skyrocketing; that he had nothing to do with Project 2025; and that the 2020 presidential election was rigged and that he had actually won.

Despite the fact that these fabrications are refuted many times by demonstrable facts, he continues to hold firmly to them. There can only be two reasons for this.

One is that he is delusional and cannot distinguish reality from fantasy, truth from lies, fact from fiction. The other is that he really doesn’t believe them, but is fooling American voters. As PT Barnum says, “There’s a sucker born every minute,” and Trump is betting that there are just enough suckers who believe this stuff and will vote for him. Personally, I think he’s fooling us for the sole purpose of staying out of jail.

Both circumstances make him completely unfit for the presidency.
