Prince William gave a positive update about his wife Princess Kate Middleton‘s health struggles.
“She is doing very well, thank you,” the Prince of Wales told reporters on Wednesday, November 6, ahead of the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Cape Town, Africa. ‘Hopefully she’ll be watching tonight. Encourage me.”
William’s comment came almost two months after Kate, 42, revealed she had completed a course of chemotherapy while undergoing chemotherapy her ongoing battle with cancer.
“She’s been great all year,” continued William, 42. “I know she really wants this night to be a success.”
The Princess of Wales has kept a low profile since announcing in March that she had been diagnosed with an unknown form of cancer. She has started to step up her public appearances since revealing she had done so in September completed chemotherapy treatments.

While Kate is set to be present During the National Service of Remembrance ceremony in London on Sunday, November 10, she did not accompany her husband on his trip to South Africa. She chose to stay at home in England the couple’s three childrenPrince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
With William in town to support his Earthshot Prize, the Prince of Wales explained how he and his family support the environment in their own home. (William founded the Earthshot Prize in 2020, and each year five winners receive $1.3 million to continue their environmentally focused ventures.)
“Every family is trying to do what they can to help a little with the environment,” he told reporters on Wednesday. “We go through all the basics of recycling and making sure that we minimize water use and turn off the lights when we leave the house and things like that, and make sure, what’s sensible, in what we do in terms of the environment.
He added: “I think every family is having these conversations. You just try to do what you can.”

While attending the event, William also discussed the “daddy” friendship bracelet that he wore during his journey.
“Well, this is a relic, if you will, from one Taylor Swift concert that my daughter decided she wanted to make a bracelet for,” he said. “She gave it to me when I left. So I promised I would wear it and try not to lose it while I was here.”
William accompanied George and Charlotte to Swift Eras tour in London where they met the singer and her boyfriend, Travis Kelcebehind the scenes.
‘Dude, he was the coolest mom,’ Travis said on an episode of his podcast ‘New Heights’ at the time. “He was so cool!”
