If you’re one of the probably millions of Reformation newsletter subscribers, you probably received an email on Friday afternoon describing a surprising new collaboration with designer Clare Waight Keller. Shortly thereafter, you may have started seeing stories on social media about an intimate party in Paris attended by fashion influencers like Dree Hemingway and Tish Weinstock releasing a collection. Compared to Reformation’s usual tongue-in-cheek announcements, this one was more subtle and – dare we say it – demure, with very little description of the future collection other than that it would be a semi-precious collection for wrists, ears and décolletage.

The 14-piece collection – Reformation’s first-ever jewelry collaboration – launches today and features an array of heritage-quality pieces. Think teardrop earrings, delicate chains and statement cuffs that will take you casually to all your upcoming holiday parties, all in 24k gold vermeil, sterling silver and semi-precious stones. In keeping with Reformation’s sustainable raison d’etre, all pieces are made from recycled metals and deadstock stones, and range in price from $168 to $898.

Los Angeles-born Reformation, beloved by millennials for its focus on responsible design and great value, is currently experiencing a surge in popularity among Gen Z in both America and Europe thanks to viral social media marketing. “It has become well known and extremely popular among teenagers and girls in their 20s, including my daughters,” Waight Keller said on Zoom. Now that she has become creative director at Uniqlo, social media has sparked renewed interest in the designer’s decades-long career. On TikTok and X, you can often see screenshots and videos explaining her most memorable contributions from her time at Givechy and Chloé.

As a jewelry lover (both this designer AND from a customer perspective), Waight Keller has a few favorites in this collaboration. “The face is always an important element of clothing. You always look down at yourself from that point, and the earrings are impressive,” she says. “The ones I made for Ref have a softer, more feminine floral shape with a chandelier drop. On the other hand, there are bolder and more modern pieces with a cylindrical aesthetic and straight lines. I’ve been able to incorporate both types of approaches and personalities when it comes to the way I like to view jewelry. In addition to earrings, carved cuffs are heroes for the designer. Not only will they look great paired with a tuxedo jacket, as Waight Keller styled at an event last week, but they can also be the focal point of your fit when wearing a classic LBD. And don’t sleep on the Coco Mariner bar. It’s a two-in-one solution that can decorate your clothes as a low-slung belt or wear as a wrap necklace if you so choose.

Once you buy your jewelry, Waight Keller has a tip on how to keep it as beautiful as the day you bought it. “Put it in the bags that come with it,” he says. “It helps with scratches and general dullness and discoloration. You want to get the most durability from your jewelry. That’s the goal of sustainability: to have a long life and take care of it that way.”
