Residents of Columbia, Lebanon and Coventry can vote in several local and state races on Election Day.
Incumbent Democratic U.S. Rep. Joseph Courtney is running for re-election in the 2nd District. Courtney serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Courtney told the Chronicle he is seeking re-election to continue historic job growth in the submarine industrial base, which is having a domino effect on small submarine supply chain manufacturers across the region. If elected, he plans to pass new tax incentives to encourage more housing construction, lowering the cost of housing for everyone. Courtney also plans to pass a strong and balanced Farm Bill.
