Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Here’s what you need to know to cast your vote.
Polling Places in Central Texas
Any registered voter who did not vote early will be eligible to vote in person on November 5, 2024. Anyone in the following provinces can vote at any polling station in the province where they live.

Do I need an ID to vote in Texas?
To vote in person during early voting or on Election Day, voters in Texas will be asked to provide acceptable photo identification. Here is a list of acceptable forms of photo ID:
- Texas driver’s license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
- Texas election identification certificate issued by DPS
- Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
- Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
- United States military identification card with the person’s photo
- United States Citizenship Certificate with the person’s photo
- United States Passport (book or map)
Here is a list of the supporting IDs that may be presented if the voter does not have an acceptable photo ID and cannot reasonably obtain one:
- Copy or original of a government document showing the voter’s name and address, including the voter registration certificate
- Copy of or original current energy bill
- Copy or original bank statement
- Copy of or original government check
- Copy of or original pay slip
- Copy or original of (a) a certified domestic birth certificate (from a U.S. state or territory) or (b) a document certifying birth that is admissible in a court and establishing the voter’s identity (which may include a foreign birth document)

When are the polls open on Election Day?
Polls in Texas are open from 7 a.m. on the election date until 7 p.m. Anyone who is in line when the polls close can cast their vote.
