SPVM arrests two suspects in connection with the robbery of VR headset by Anjou

Montreal police arrested two teenage suspects Thursday in connection with a robbery in Anjou.

The suspects, aged 15 and 18, were arrested following the robbery of a virtual reality headset advertised on social media.

On the evening of October 19, police say a person selected a man to purchase the VR headset on La Loire Avenue in Anjou. Police say the suspect asked to try on the headset, and when the seller handed it to him, he tried to steal it. Realizing the victim wouldn’t let go, the suspect punched him, stole the headphones and fled on foot.

A few days later, the alleged thief was arrested along with an accomplice during a police operation. They tried to sell the stolen headset.

A search of the home of one of the suspects led to the seizure of certain evidence. Both individuals were released with a promise to appear.

SPVM says it has reasons to believe that the suspects were also involved in other recent robberies.
