In a statement issued here, the DGP said the system of duties in the Telangana State Police has been in place for decades and continues during the times of United Andhra Pradesh and post-bifurcation.

During recruitment, police officers are selected in three categories: civilian police, armed police and special police. While the functions of the civil police are to conduct investigations, prevent and detect crime and deal with law and order issues, the Telangana State Special Police (TGSP) tackles state-wide law and order issues and is also deployed for various tasks in other states. also. He pointed out that salaries and allowances for police personnel in the state are the highest compared to other states and the department is taking various welfare measures including Bhadratha, Arogya Bhadratha, etc.

“Under such circumstances, it is not appropriate for TGSP personnel to protest on the streets. TGSP is a uniformed and disciplined force, and the image of the police must be protected,” the statement said.

The DGP said in the statement that the police would consider the concerns of the TGSP personnel on merit and with compassion and urged the TGSP personnel to discharge their duties as usual.

“If there are any concerns, they can be raised in the ‘Darbar’ with the officers/commanders/ADGP TGSP and other senior officers,” he said.
