The curry was prepared by Smokin’ Ed Currie, creator of the infamous Carolina Reaper.

On the Food Finds UK Facebook group, one of the contributors shared: snap from the box – which one characteristics X Factor style logo.

They wrote: “Pepper X is almost twice as hot as Carolina Reaper on the Scoville scale, reaching almost 3 million Scovilles. Curry is a fucking demon.

“Oh, they also do macaroni and cheese and pepper X. 4 lbs Iceland

Commenters were quick to share their curry experiences.

One said: “My partner ate this earlier this week… His exact words were ‘hotter than the gates of hell’ and he loves spicy food.”

Another asked: “Do you get free milk for this?”

One person added: “I’ve had Madrasa before, but this? It would be hell (literally Madras was basically almost a bonfire, but this curry would sink into the volcano, although you would be dead before you touched the magma, which would be almost rock solid).

Although many were more than willing challenge.

One person boasted: “3m is a lightweight. The last (sauce) I tried was just over 15m.

“I don’t know what was worse, the sauce or the death nuts I made a few days later.

“Stupid, stupid heat, but once the shock wears off, everything gets easier.”

AGE RESTRICTION

That comes later Iceland has introduced an age restriction for meals in its Pepper X line – which also includes Chilli Mac & Cheese – due to extreme heat levels.

In the case of spicy products, Icelandic staff check documents at the checkout to ensure that the ultra-spicy meals are only sold to customers over 18, the Mirror reports.

Commenting on the new additions, Matthew Worsley, executive chef development at Iceland Foods, said: “Our customers love spices and are always asking us to turn up the heat.

“That’s why this time we’ve developed a range that won’t disappoint.

“Our Pepper X line is unlike anything we have ever offered to our customers. It’s intense, fiery and definitely not for the faint of heart.

“The intense heat comes with great responsibility, so to ensure that only the most experienced spice enthusiasts can take on this challenge, we have decided to limit sales to customers 18 years of age and older.”

Chilli Pepper X won the title of the world’s hottest chili in the Guinness Book of Records in 2023.

The Fiery Meals launched in select Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores from October 10, with full rollout to all Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores, including online, on October 14.
