The tenant and his friends from West Bengal’s Malda district, bordering Sahibganj, brought the businessman to Radhanagar area of Sahibganj district, said Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Singh.
On Friday, they called Vinode’s son in Pune and demanded a ransom of one crore rupees for his safe release. After receiving a ransom note, the family filed a complaint in this regard at Hinjwadi police station in Pune, Singh said.
Pune police informed Sahibganj SP about the incident and sought his help.
On Singh’s orders, a special police team was formed led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Rajmahal) Vimlesh Kumar Tripathy, who conducted massive raids and rescued Vinode from Gol Dhab Chuvad area and arrested two kidnappers identified as Naseem Akhtar from Muthabadi Police Station in Malda District and Lallu Sheikh of Sahibganj.
